This book was written by a close Jimi’s friend, Sharon Lawrence and talks about the “beyond the scene“ aspect of his life.
Even if i knew that Hendrix had a major influence on contemporary music, i wasn’t familiar with his life and work.
Through the book (very well written) you understand better Jimi’s personality and music.
some revelations and aspects of his life were a real surprise to me and right after i finished the book, i started listening to his music differently.
also, knowing the end of the story and the “behind the scene” thing i try not to buy or promote any “Hendrix” marchandizing that’s being commercialized these days!
