The latest addition to my rig, the Boilling Point overdrive by Rockbox Electronics!!
I've been looking for that kind of overdrive for a while, thick, lots of output and gain but really detailed!! It has a fat boost that works really well on single coils, it gives a humbucker kind of effect in the attack..the pedal reacts really well on your fingers as well as on guitar's volume and tone knobs, you can make it sound in many different ways and by using different guitars you can have a lot of different sounds with only one pedal.
Really versatile and it has a really strong personality!! wickh i really like!
The 3 modes Asymmetrical,Symmetrical and Clean Boost provide different tone reactions that are really helpful when searching for different types of tones but also when using different amps and guitars, once again, versatility!!
The Rockbox Boiling Point has more versatility than any other overdrive pedal i have come across. From crisp clean boost to dirty blues all the way to screaming shred, the Boiling Point covers more of a tonal palette than the best amp and distortion modelers and does it with an incredibly natural sound that will turn heads. In the Asymmetrical clipping mode, the Rockbox Boiling Point is open and clear with a natural overdriven tube sound. With the Drive rolled all the way down, the signal is pure and completely clean. By the time you turn it up to 12 o’clock, the Boiling Point is saturated and creamy with tons of sustain and harmonics. Roll off the volume knob on your axe and the Boiling Point cleans up nicely for a smooth rhythm sound. The Symmetrical mode is a darker overdrive sound more akin to a true Plexi than any sort of pedal. The lead sounds are warm and rich and the pedal still retains clarity and dynamics even at the highest gain setting. Crank the gain on either of these modes and chunk out some of your favorite heavy tunes. The Rockbox Boiling Point does it all. The Clean boost mode provides tons of volume to boost your amp into overdrive as well as some of its own grit to lay down some dirty rhythm. After searching the world and draining the pocket book on tons of pedals that claim to do it all, i’ve found the one that does. The Rockbox Boiling Point will not let you down, no matter what your style.
