James Trussart, Rob Timmons and i have been talking about a custom model for a few month. Here is the story about the making of at the Trussart Factory in Los Angeles where i picked up the guitar..
For my upcoming project i wanted a guitar that could be a mix of all my guitars.. with something special.
Since the recording of "Signs", i felt that the telecaster was the right guitar for my music and playing (at least in that case) and i needed a variation of my 63' tele.
James Trussart's guitars are unique and have something the other don'have due to the fact they're made out of steel and their design.
When i first played one, i was amazed of the warmth! steel is warm!! and the resonance is impressive..the sustain is even more impressive..
So based on the thinline tele, here called the "deluxe steelcaster" wich is a hollow body with perforated back, the finish of that one was made under my specificatons.
It is of course the first time they figure my logo on a guitar but it's also the first time they made that distressed cream on lake placid blue finish.. they usually use red.
Lake placid Blue is my favourite color!
This guitar has 3 volumes, one for bridge PU, one for Neck and one for the piezzo and when you blend that piezzo with magnetic PU's in a crunch amp, you get that electric dobro sound (amazing)!
The tone is on the top of the concentric pot and the pickups are "arcane" designed by Rob Timmons.
So here it is, a very personnal instrument that inspires me a lot!
I would like to thank James, Rob, William and everyone at Trussart guitars for that afternoon in L.A!!
